What a great weekend we had! Sunshine all the way on Friday, mostly dry and some sun on Saturday and only a couple of showers on Sunday. A relatively leisurely 459 miles from the meeting point on Friday back to the same place on Sunday, every type of road including some "Green Lane" trails for those on suitable bikes. The "Proper Road" alternative proving just as popular for the trike and the more road biased bikes. One minor breakdown was quickly sorted and the one puncture kept me busy over Saturday lunchtime as I sweated to change a tube... definitely gave me a good appetite for the more than generous helpings that the hotel served up at dinner time. Plenty of chat and craic in the evenings with the strains of traditional Irish music from the local musicians to give a great atmosphere. I have posted my photograhps of the weekend at: http://gallery.me.com/irishguyonabike#100204

This is a 3 day weekend tour leaving from and returning to Belfast, based for 2 nights in the same hotel in southwest Donegal. A great way to start the biking season, an opportunity to get the bike out and blow away the cobwebs, meet up with old friends and maybe make some new ones.

We will meet up on Friday morning for a 9am departure, travelling west on some of our favourite roads and crossing the border into Co. Donegal. As it will be early spring the route taken will largely depend on the prevailing weather conditions on the day. Anyone wishing to  make their own way to the hotel later in the day is welcome to do so as it is about 3 hours ride from Belfast by the most direct route.

On Saturday we have some new roads for you to explore. We will visit what are reputedly Ireland's highest seacliffs, a real live smugglers cove, lovely Glengesh and some of the remotest parts of Ireland before returning to our hotel for the usual good grub and an evening of craic.

Sunday will see us making the return journey back to Belfast by way of some of our favourite roads in Co. Tyrone, arriving back by mid afternoon so you will be home in time for tea.

The cost of the tour includes two nights hotel accommodation with full Irish breakfast, parking at the hotel for the bikes, daily itinerary and route description, and the services of an experienced motorcyclist/tour leader.

£130 per person sharing twin/double room
£150 per person single room
